HIGHLIGHTS

July 11-13, 1901: Peak of heat wave with most all stations over 100.
Jonesboro hits 116 and Newport reaches 112.

July 13, 1954: Hottest day of three month heat wave, most stations 
are 110 or hotter with 116 at Ozark.

July 13-17, 1980: Peak of heat wave that resulted in 20 consecutive 
100 degree days at Little Rock (June 30-July 19). Little Rock
peaks at 108 three different days and Alicia hits 113.

July 26, 1933: Remnants of a tropical storm move across northern 
Louisiana and drop up to 11 inches of rain across the south. 

July 31, 1986: Little Rock ties its all time record high of 110 and 
Morrilton reaches 115.
