Severe Weather in Apr 2006 (1st-3rd/Pg2)
 
Where 4 to 5 inch diameter hail was reported on 04/02/2006. Four to five inch diameter hail was reported at Mountain Home (Baxter County), 2 miles north of Hardy (Fulton County), near Joy (White County), 2 miles north of Searcy (White County), Plainview (White County), about 2 miles northeast of Pendleton (Desha County) and 7 miles southeast of Gillett (Arkansas County).

In addition to hail, four tornadoes were spawned in eastern Arkansas. Two of these tornadoes were strong (F3), and mainly affected areas east of the Little Rock County Warning Area. One tornado tracked through Marmaduke (Greene County), and damaged or destroyed 80 percent of the buildings in town (for more information, click here). The other tornado hit areas near Wynne (Cross County)...especially the Fitzgerald Crossing community (for more information, click here).      

 

Tornado Surveys
 
In the Little Rock County Warning Area, a strong (F2) tornado affected White County and tracked from just southeast of Armstrong Springs to a few miles north of Searcy (a 6.3 mile path). Another tornado started in eastern Woodruff County near Morton and strengthened as it headed into Cross County (affecting Wynne).

A tornado was spawned in Sharp County on 04/02/2006. In eastern Sharp County, a tornado headed through areas near Williford. The tornado continued into northern Lawrence and western Randolph Counties before dissipating. Farther east, another tornado spun up and moved toward Marmaduke (Greene County).
