Thank You/How Surveys Are Performed
After large tornado outbreaks (such as on November 27th), it is often a tedious process to figure out exactly what happened and where tornadoes were spawned. Reports of damage from trained spotters, emergency managers, law enforcement, the media, the public, etc. are very important...and help the National Weather Service (NWS) find tornado tracks when damage surveys are initiated. NWS Little Rock thanks you for your reports! For those who are interested in how surveys are performed, click here. An example of a damage survey map.
