Flooding/Wind Damage on March 20-21, 2012 (Photos)

Damaging straight-line winds, heavy rain and high water affected portions of northern and central Arkansas on March 20-21, 2012. Thunderstorm straight-line wind gusts reached 70 to 80 mph at Morrilton (Conway County) and Midway (Baxter County) during the afternoon on March 20, 2012. Some structural damage resulted, mainly from fallen trees. After the storms rolled through, several inches of rain fell through the morning of the 21st in a narrow swath from Mountain Home (Baxter County) to Little Rock (Pulaski County) and Camden (Ouachita County). There were rapid rises on streams and creeks, and flashy tributaries such as the Buffalo River.
