NORTHERLY AND NORTHWESTERLY WIND FLOW OVER THE REGION DURING A GOOD
PORTION OF THE MONTH ALLOWED FOR THE COOLEST MAY IN SEVERAL YEARS.
DAILY TEMPERATURES WERE LARGELY CLOSE TO SEASONAL AVERAGES...HOWEVER
VERY COLD AIR DURING THE 3RD THROUGH THE 5TH ASSURED THAT THE MONTH
WOULD FINISH BELOW AVERAGE IN TERMS OF TEMPERATURE. TEMPERATURES
DURING THIS TIME PERIOD WERE THE COLDEST EVER RECORDED IN THE MONTH
OF MAY AT LITTLE ROCK.

RAINFALL DURING THE MONTH WAS MUCH MORE PLENTIFUL WHEN COMPARED TO
LAST YEAR...THOUGH STILL NOT NEARLY AS MUCH AS THE YEAR BEFORE. IT
WAS ONLY THE FIFTH MAY SINCE 2000 WITH ABOVE AVERAGE RAINFALL.
