READINGS WENT FROM NEAR RECORD WARMTH ON THE 4TH...TO NEAR RECORD
COLD HIGH TEMPERATURES THREE DAYS LATER...AND THE COLDEST DECEMBER
LOW TEMPERATURE IN FIVE YEARS. BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES CONTINUED
THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THE MONTH...WHEN READINGS WARMED AGAIN. FOLLOWING
PASSAGE OF A STRONG FRONTAL BOUNDARY...COOLER TEMPERATURES RETURNED
BY THE 23RD...WITH THESE CONTINUING INTO THE LAST WEEK OF THE MONTH.
WARMING WAS AGAIN NOTED TOWARD THE END OF THE MONTH...BUT ANOTHER
STRONG FRONT BROUGHT TEMPERATURES BACK BELOW NORMAL FOR THE LAST TWO DAYS.

RAINFALL FOR THE MONTH WAS ABOVE NORMAL...WHICH ACTUALLY PUSHED THE
YEARLY RAINFALL TOTAL ABOVE NORMAL FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOUR YEARS. IT
WAS THE WETTEST DECEMBER SINCE 2011.

EVEN THOUGH SNOWFALL WAS LESS THAN LAST YEAR...IT WAS RIGHT AT NORMAL
FOR THE MONTH. THERE WERE SIX DAYS WITH SNOWFALL DURING THE MONTH...
WHICH WAS THE MOST SINCE 2005.

.MONTHLY TEMPERATURES...
THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS THE COLDEST SINCE 2009. THE AVERAGE
LOW AND MONTHLY TEMPERATURE WERE THE COLDEST SINCE 2010.
