A STRONG STORM SYSTEM BEGAN TO AFFECT NORTHERN ARKANSAS...DROPPING
TEMPERATURES SIGNIFICANTLY. BY THE MORNING OF THE 7TH...HARRISON SAW
THE COLDEST DECEMBER TEMPERATURE IN FIVE YEARS. THE TEMPERATURE FELL 
BELOW 20 DEGREES ON THE 5TH AND DID NOT GET ABOVE THAT UNTIL THE 8TH.
READINGS MODERATED TOWARD THE MIDDLE OF THE MONTH...WITH AVERAGE DAILY 
TEMPERATURES FROM THE 16TH THROUGH THE 21ST RANGING AS HIGH AS 10 TO OVER
15 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF THE MONTH...TEMPERATURES
FLUCTUATED BETWEEN BELOW NORMAL FOR A FEW DAYS...AND ABOVE NORMAL FOR A
FEW DAYS. 

RAINFALL FOR THE MONTH WAS ABOVE NORMAL...WHICH ACTUALLY PUSHED THE 
YEARLY RAINFALL TOTAL ABOVE NORMAL FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2011. IT 
WAS THE WETTEST DECEMBER SINCE 2008. 

SNOWFALL WAS WELL ABOVE NORMAL...WITH MOST OF IT FALLING IN A TWO-DAY
PERIOD ON THE 5TH AND 6TH.
