WEATHER HIGHLIGHTS FOR 2005 AT THE LITTLE ROCK AIRPORT...ADAMS FIELD

JANUARY...IT WAS THE WARMEST JANUARY SINCE 1998 AND THE THIRD OUT
          OF THE LAST FOUR TO BE ABOVE NORMAL ON TEMPERATURE. IT
          WAS THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2002 THAT THE TEMPERATURE ROSE
          ABOVE FREEZING EVERY DAY DURING JANUARY. IT WAS THE WETTEST
          JANUARY SINCE 1999 AND THE FIRST TIME SINCE THEN JANUARY
          HAS BEEN ABOVE NORMAL ON RAINFALL.

JANUARY 2...THE LOW OF 63 DEGREES TIED THE RECORD FOR THE HIGHEST
            MINIMUM FOR THE DATE WHICH WAS FIRST SET IN 2004.

JANUARY 3...THE RANGE IN TEMPERATURE BETWEEN THE HIGH OF 66 AND THE LOW
            OF 62 TIED FOR THE SMALLEST DAILY RANGE IN TEMPERATURE
            FOR A DAY DURING THE YEAR.

JANUARY 5...THE HIGH OF 70 DEGREES WAS THE FIRST TIME THE TEMPERATURE
            REACHED 70 DEGREES FOR THE YEAR.

JANUARY 8...THE RANGE IN TEMPERATURE BETWEEN THE HIGH OF 43 AND THE
            LOW OF 39 TIED FOR THE SMALLEST DAILY RANGE IN TEMPERATURE
            FOR A DAY IN THE YEAR.

JANUARY 18...THE HIGH OF 38 DEGREES WAS THE LAST TIME THE HIGH
             TEMPERATURE WOULD BE BELOW 40 DEGREES FOR THE SEASON.

JANUARY 23...THE LOW TEMPERATURE OF 18 DEGREES WAS THE
             LOWEST TEMPERATURE FOR THE EARLY PART OF THE
             YEAR.

FEBRUARY...IT WAS THE WARMEST FEBRUARY SINCE 2000 AND THE FIRST
           TIME SINCE 2001 THAT FEBRUARY WAS ABOVE NORMAL ON
           TEMPERATURE. THERE WAS AN 80 DEGREE TEMPERATURE IN
           FEBRUARY FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 1996. IT WAS THE
           FIRST TIME SINCE 2000 THAT THE TEMPERATURE REACHED 40
           DEGREES OR HIGHER EVERY DAY IN FEBRUARY. IT WAS THE
           DRIEST FEBRUARY SINCE 2002 AND THE FIRST TIME SINCE
           THEN THAT FEBRUARY WAS BELOW NORMAL ON RAINFALL.

FEBRUARY 1...THE DAILY TEMPERATURE RANGE OF 4 DEGREES (HIGH 42
             LOW 38) TIED THE SMALLEST DAILY TEMPERATURE RANGE OF
             THE YEAR.

FEBRUARY 2...THE DAILY TEMPERATURE RANGE OF 4 DEGREES (HIGH 44
             LOW 40) TIED THE SMALLEST DAILY TEMPERATURE RANGE
             OF THE YEAR.

FEBRUARY 15...THE HIGH OF 80 DEGREES BROKE THE RECORD HIGH FOR
              THE DATE. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 79 DEGREES IN
              1945. IT WAS THE FIRST 80 DEGREE TEMPERATURE FOR
              THE YEAR. IT WAS THE FIRST TIME SINCE FEBRUARY 27
              1996 THAT THE TEMPERATURE REACHED 80 DEGREES DURING
              FEBRUARY.

MARCH...IT WAS THE 4TH YEAR OUT OF THE LAST FIVE THAT MARCH WAS
        BELOW NORMAL ON TEMPERATURE. IT WAS THE THIRD STRAIGHT
        YEAR THAT MARCH WAS BELOW NORMAL ON RAINFALL AND THERE WAS
        NO SNOW IN MARCH.

MARCH 14...THE LOW OF 32 DEGREES WAS THE LAST TIME THE TEMPERATURE
           REACHED FREEZING OR BELOW FOR THE SEASON.

MARCH 27...THE HIGH OF 49 DEGREES WAS THE LAST HIGH TEMPERATURE
           BELOW 50 DEGREES AND BELOW 60 DEGREES FOR THE SEASON.

APRIL...IT WAS THE 5TH STRAIGHT YEAR APRIL WAS ABOVE NORMAL ON
        TEMPERATURE. IT WAS THE 5TH TIME IN THE LAST SIX YEARS
        APRIL WAS BELOW NORMAL ON RAINFALL.

APRIL 2...THE LOW OF 39 DEGREES WAS THE LAST TEMPERATURE
          BELOW 40 DEGREES FOR THE SPRING.

MAY...IT WAS THE COOLEST MAY SINCE 2002 AND THE FIRST TIME SINCE
      THEN MAY WAS COOLER THAN NORMAL AND HAD AN AVERAGE LOW
      TEMPERATURE BELOW 60.0 DEGREES. THE 7 DAYS OF 90 DEGREE
      TEMPERATURES WAS THE MOST IN MAY SINCE 1998. IT WAS THE
      DRIEST MAY SINCE 1970 AND THE FIRST TIME SINCE THEN RAINFALL
      IN MAY WAS LESS THAN TWO INCHES. IT WAS THE 5TH TO DRIEST
      MAY ON RECORD SINCE 1880.

MAY 3...THE HIGH OF 69 DEGREES WAS THE LAST HIGH TEMPERATURE BELOW
        70 DEGREES FOR THE SPRING.

MAY 7...THE LOW OF 49 DEGREES WAS THE LAST TIME THE TEMPERATURE
        WAS BELOW 50 DEGREES FOR THE SPRING.

MAY 11...THE TEMPERATURE REACHED 90 DEGREES FOR THE FIRST
         TIME FOR THE YEAR.

MAY 20...THE HIGH OF 95 DEGREES BROKE THE RECORD HIGH TEMPERATRURE
         FOR THE DATE. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 94 DEGREES SET IN 1962.
         IT WAS THE FIRST TIME THE TEMPERATURE REACHED 95 DEGREES FOR
         THE YEAR.

MAY 23...THE LOW OF 71 DEGREES WAS THE FIRST TIME THE LOW TEMPERATURE
         WAS 70 DEGREES OR HIGHER FOR THE YEAR.

MAY 26...THE LOW TEMPERATURE OF 59 DEGREES WAS THE LAST TIME IN
         THE SPRING THE TEMPERATURE WAS BELOW 60 DEGREES.

JUNE...IT WAS THE WARMEST JUNE SINCE 1998 AND THE FIRST
       TIME SINCE THEN THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR JUNE WAS 80.0
       DEGREES OR HIGHER. IT WAS THE FIRST TIME SINCE 1999 THAT
       JUNE WAS ABOVE NORMAL ON TEMPERATURE. THE 21 DAYS OF 90
       DEGREE TEMPERATURES WAS THE MOST IN JUNE SINCE 1998.
       THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE FOR JUNE WAS ABOVE 90.0
       DEGREES FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 1998. IT WAS THE DRIEST
       JUNE SINCE 2002 AND THE FIRST TIME SINCE THEN JUNE WAS
       BELOW NORMAL ON RAINFALL.

JUNE 6...THE RAINFALL OF 1.97 INCHES BROKE THE RECORD FOR THE
         MOST RAINFALL ON THE DATE. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 1.31
         INCHES SET IN 1968.

JUNE 17...THE HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 75 DEGREES TIED THE RECORD FOR
          THE LOWEST MAXIMUM FOR THE DATE WHICH WAS FIRST SET IN
          1980.

JULY...IT WAS THE WARMEST JULY SINCE 2001. IT WAS THE WETTEST JULY
       SINCE 1994.

JULY 6...THE RAINFALL OF 1.86 INCHES BROKE THE RECORD FOR THE
         MOST RAINFALL ON THE DATE. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 1.12
         INCHES SET IN 1904.

JULY 22...THE HIGH OF 101 DEGREES WAS THE FIRST TIME THE TEMPERATURE
          REACHED 100 DEGREES FOR THE YEAR. IT WAS THE HIGHEST
          TEMPERATURE SINCE SEPTEMBER 4 2000.

JULY 24...THE LOW OF 78 DEGREES TIED THE HIGHEST MINIMUM FOR THE YEAR.

JULY 26...THE LOW OF 78 DEGREES TIED THE HIGHEST MINIMUM FOR THE YEAR.

AUGUST...IT WAS THE WARMEST AUGUST SINCE 2000 AND THE 10TH
         TO WARMEST AUGUST ON RECORD SINCE 1879. THE 9 DAYS
         OF 100 DEGREE TEMPERATURES WAS THE MOST FOR AUGUST AND
         ANY MONTH SINCE 2000. THE 29 DAYS OF 90 DEGREE TEMPERATURES
         WAS THE MOST FOR AUGUST SINCE 2000. LOW TEMPERATURES WERE
         70 DEGREES OR HIGHER ON ALL BUT THE LAST DAY OF THE MONTH.
         IT WAS THE WETTEST AUGUST SINCE 1994 AND THE SECOND STRAIGHT
         YEAR FOR AUGUST TO BE ABOVE NORMAL ON RAINFALL.

AUGUST 21...THE HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 103 DEGREES WAS THE HIGHEST
            TEMPERATURE FOR THE YEAR. IT WAS THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE
            SINCE SEPTEMBER 3 2000. THE LOW OF 78 DEGREES TIED THE
            HIGHEST MINIMUM FOR THE YEAR.

AUGUST 25...THE LOW OF 78 DEGREES TIED THE HIGHEST MINIMUM
            TEMPERATURE FOR THE YEAR.

AUGUST 26...THE LOW OF 78 DEGREES TIED THE RECORD FOR THE HIGHEST
            MINIMUM FOR THE DATE WHICH WAS FIRST SET IN 1938. IT
            ALSO TIED THE HIGHEST MINIMUM FOR THE YEAR.

SEPTEMBER...IT WAS THE WARMEST SEPTEMBER SINCE 1998 AND WAS THE
            11TH TO WARMEST SEPTEMBER SINCE 1879. THE AVERAGE HIGH
            TEMPERATURE TIED 1955 FOR THE 10TH WARMEST ON RECORD.
            THE THREE DAYS OF 100 DEGREES WERE THE MOST FOR
            SEPTEMBER SINCE 2000. THE 17 DAYS OF 90 DEGREE
            TEMPERATURES WAS THE MOST FOR SEPTEMBER SINCE 1998.
            IT WAS THE WETTEST SEPTEMBER SINCE 1997 AND THE 8TH
            STRAIGHT YEAR SEPTEMBER WAS AT OR BELOW NORMAL ON
            RAINFALL.

SEPTEMBER 18...THE HIGH OF 98 DEGREES TIED THE RECORD HIGH
               TEMPERATURE FOR THE DATE WHICH WAS FIRST SET
               IN 1925.

SEPTEMBER 19...THE HIGH OF 100 DEGREES BROKE THE RECORD
               HIGH FOR THE DATE. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 98
               DEGREES SET IN 1925 AND TIED IN 1997.

SEPTEMBER 20...THE HIGH OF 102 DEGREES BROKE THE RECORD HIGH
               TEMPERATURE FOR THE DATE. THE PREVIOUS RECORD
               WAS 98 DEGREES SET IN 1954 AND TIED IN 1980 AND
               1997.

SEPTEMBER 21...THE HIGH OF 100 DEGREES BROKE THE RECORD HIGH
               TEMPERATURE FOR THE DATE. THE PREVIOUS RECORD
               WAS 98 DEGREES SET IN 1980. IT WAS THE LAST 100
               DEGREE TEMPERATURE FOR THE YEAR AND THE LATEST
               100 DEGREE TEMPERATURE SINCE 1953.

SEPTEMBER 22...THE HIGH OF 98 DEGREES BROKE THE RECORD HIGH
               TEMPERATURE FOR THE DATE. THE PREVIOUS
               RECORD WAS 97 DEGREES SET IN 1980. IT WAS THE
               LAST TIME THE TEMPERATURE REACHED 95 DEGREES FOR
               THE YEAR.

SEPTEMBER 24...THE RAINFALL OF 2.56 INCHES...WHICH WAS THE RESULT
               OF HURRICANE RITA WHOSE REMNANTS PASSED OVER THE
               AREA EARLY THE NEXT DAY...WAS THE MOST RAINFALL ON
               ANY DAY FOR THE YEAR.

SEPTEMBER 29...THE LOW TEMPERATURE OF 52 DEGREES WAS THE FIRST TIME
               IN THE FALL THE TEMPERATURE WAS BELOW 60 DEGREES.


OCTOBER...IT WAS THE COOLEST OCTOBER SINCE 2002 BUT THE THIRD STRAIGHT
          YEAR OCTOBER WAS ABOVE NORMAL ON TEMPERATURE. THE
          TEMPERATURE REACHED 90 DEGREES DURING OCTOBER FOR THE
          THIRD TIME IN FOUR YEARS. IT WAS THE SECOND STRAIGHT YEAR
          THAT THERE WERE 13 DAYS WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES OF AT LEAST
          80 DEGREES DURING OCTOBER AND THE THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR WITH
          AT LEAST 10 DAYS DURING OCTOBER WITH HIGH TEMPERATURES OF
          80 DEGREES OR HIGHER. IT WAS THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2002 THAT
          THERE WAS A LOW TEMPERATURE OF 70 DEGREES OR HIGHER IN
          OCTOBER AND THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2001 THE TEMPERATURE FELL
          BELOW 40 DEGREES DURING OCTOBER. IT TIED FOR THE 24TH TO
          DRIEST OCTOBER ON RECORD SINCE 1879. ALL OF THE RAIN FOR
          THE MONTH FELL DURING THE LAST 10 HOURS OF THE LAST DAY.
          IF IT HAD NOT BEEN FOR THAT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE DRIEST
          OCTOBER AND MONTH ON RECORD.

OCTOBER 3...THE LOW OF 70 DEGREES WAS THE LAST TIME FOR THE YEAR
            THE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS 70 DEGREES OR HIGHER. IT WAS
            THE FIRST LOW TEMPERATURE OF 70 DEGREES OR HIGHER IN
            OCTOBER SINCE OCTOBER 3 2002.

OCTOBER 7...THE HIGH OF 68 DEGREES WAS THE FIRST HIGH TEMPERATURE
            BELOW 70 DEGREES FOR THE FALL.

OCTOBER 8...THE LOW OF 49 DEGREES WAS THE FIRST TEMPERATURE BELOW
            50 DEGREES FOR THE FALL.

OCTOBER 18...THE HIGH OF 91 DEGREES BROKE THE RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE
             FOR THE DATE. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 90 DEGREES SET IN
             1953 AND TIED IN 1963. IT WAS THE LAST TIME THE TEMPERATURE
             REACHED 90 DEGREES FOR THE YEAR. IT WAS THE LATEST DATE
             FOR A 90 DEGREE TEMPERATURE SINCE OCTOBER 23 2003.

OCTOBER 23...THE HIGH OF 58 DEGREES WAS THE FIRST HIGH TEMPERATURE
             BELOW 60 DEGREES FOR THE FALL.

OCTOBER 25...THE LOW OF 39 DEGREES WAS THE FIRST TEMPERATURE BELOW
             40 DEGREES FOR THE FALL. IT WAS THE FIRST TEMPERATURE
             BELOW 40 DEGREES IN OCTOBER SINCE OCTOBER 31 2001.

OCTOBER 31...THE 1.02 INCHES OF RAINFALL WAS ALL OF THE RAINFALL
             FOR THE MONTH AND WAS THE FIRST RAINFALL AT ALL
             SINCE SEPTEMBER 28. THE 32 DAYS WITH NO MEASURABLE
             RAIN WAS THE LONGEST DRY SPELL SINCE THE SUMMER OF
             1995.

NOVEMBER...IT WAS THE 20TH TO WARMEST NOVEMBER ON RECORD SINCE
           1879 BUT THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS THE 10TH
           TO WARMEST ON RECORD FOR NOVEMBER. IT WAS THE THIRD
           STRAIGHT YEAR FOR NOVEMBER TO BE ABOVE NORMAL ON
           TEMPERATURE. IT WAS THE 4TH STRAIGHT YEAR THE
           TEMPERATURE REACHED 80 DEGREES DURING NOVEMBER. IT
           WAS THE 4TH TIME IN 5 YEARS THAT NOVEMBER WAS BELOW NORMAL
           ON RAINFALL.

NOVEMBER 8...THE HIGH OF 81 DEGREES BROKE THE RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE
             FOR THE DATE. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 80 DEGREES SET
             IN 1908 AND TIED IN 1975 AND 1980.

NOVEMBER 9...THE HIGH OF 82 DEGREES BROKE THE RECORD HIGH
             TEMPERATURE FOR THE DATE. THE PREVIOUS RECORD
             WAS 81 DEGREES SET IN 1942.

NOVEMBER 16...THE LOW OF 32 DEGREES WAS THE FIRST FREEZE OF
              THE SEASON. IT ENDED A "GROWING SEASON" OF 246
              DAYS.

NOVEMBER 17...THE HIGH OF 47 DEGREES WAS THE FIRST HIGH
              TEMPERATURE BELOW 50 DEGREES FOR THE FALL.

NOVEMBER 23...THE HIGH OF 78 DEGREES BROKE THE RECORD HIGH
              TEMPERATURE FOR THE DATE. THE PREVIOUS RECORD
              WAS 76 DEGREES SET IN 1910 AND TIED IN 1931 AND
              1973. THE RANGE OF 42 DEGREES BETWEEN THE HIGH
              AND LOW TEMPERATURES WAS THE LARGEST RANGE BETWEEN
              THE HIGH AND LOW TEMPERATURE FOR A DAY DURING THE YEAR.

NOVEMBER 27...THE 1.14 INCHES OF RAINFALL WAS THE LAST TIME
              FOR THE YEAR THERE WAS ONE INCH OF RAINFALL OR
              MORE IN A DAY.

DECEMBER...IT WAS THE COLDEST DECEMBER SINCE 2000 AND THE FIRST
           TIME SINCE THEN THAT DECEMBER WAS BELOW NORMAL
           ON TEMPERATURE AND THERE WERE NO LOW TEMPERATURES OF
           50 DEGREES OR HIGHER DURING THE MONTH. THE TEMPERATURE
           REACHED 80 DEGREES IN DECEMBER FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE
           1956. IT WAS THE DRIEST DECEMBER SINCE 1896 AND THE THIRD TO
           DRIEST DECEMBER ON RECORD SINCE 1879. IT WAS THE 6TH
           TIME SINCE 1879 THAT PRECIPITATION IN DECEMBER WAS LESS
           THAN ONE INCH. IT WAS THE THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR THAT
           DECEMBER WAS BELOW NORMAL ON PRECIPITATION AND THE
           SECOND STRAIGHT YEAR THAT THERE WAS MEASURABLE SNOWFALL
           IN DECEMBER.


DECEMBER 3...THE HIGH OF 80 DEGREES BROKE THE RECORD HIGH
             TEMPERATURE FOR THE DATE. THE PREVIOUS RECORD
             WAS 76 DEGREES FIRST SET IN 1955 AND TIED IN 1970.
             IT ALSO TIED THE RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE FOR THE
             MONTH OF DECEMBER THAT WAS FIRST SET ON DECEMBER 31
             1951 AND WAS TIED ON DECEMBER 24 1955 AND DECEMBER 5
             1956. IT WAS THE LAST TIME THE TEMPERATURE REACHED
             80 DEGREES FOR THE YEAR. IT WAS THE FIRST TIME THE
             TEMPERATURE HAD REACHED 80 DEGREES IN DECEMBER AND
             THE LATEST DATE FOR AN 80 DEGREE TEMPERATURE SINCE
             DECEMBER 5 1956.

DECEMBER 8...THE HIGH OF 34 DEGREES WAS THE FIRST HIGH TEMPERATURE
             BELOW 40 DEGREES FOR THE SEASON. THE 0.6 INCHES OF
             SNOW WAS THE ONLY SNOWFALL OF 2005 AND WAS THE FIRST
             SNOW FOR THE 2005-06 SEASON.

DECEMBER 9...THE HIGH OF 33 DEGREES WAS THE LOWEST MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE
             FOR THE YEAR. THE LOW OF 16 DEGREES WAS THE LOWEST
             TEMPERATURE OF THE YEAR.

DECEMBER 27...THE HIGH OF 76 DEGREES BROKE THE RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURE
              FOR THE DATE. THE PREVIOUS RECORD WAS 74 DEGREES SET IN
              1971. IT WAS THE LAST TIME THE TEMPERATURE REACHED 70
              DEGREES FOR THE YEAR.
