THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR THE EXTREME SOUTHERN TEXAS
PANHANDLE...SOUTH PLAINS AND ROLLING PLAINS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

NO HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY

A DEVELOPING UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING THE RISK FOR
ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL TO MUCH OF THE SOUTH PLAINS REGION WEDNESDAY
NIGHT INTO THURSDAY. THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL...FROM 3 TO 6
INCHES...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS...IS EXPECTED ACROSS THE
SOUTHWEST TEXAS PANHANDLE INTO THE NORTHWESTERN SOUTH PLAINS. A
WINTER STORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR THIS AREA FROM 6 PM WEDNESDAY
THROUGH 6 PM THURSDAY. ELSEWHERE...RAIN WILL CHANGE TO SNOW
WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND EARLY THURSDAY...WITH LIGHTER AMOUNTS OF SNOW
GENERALLY IN THE 1 TO 3 INCH RANGE CURRENTLY EXPECTED.
HOWEVER...THE EASTERN ROLLING PLAINS MAY REMAIN WARM ENOUGH FOR
PRIMARILY RAIN THROUGH THE EVENT...WITH LITTLE TO NO SNOW EXPECTED
THERE. THE SNOW WILL QUICKLY DIMINISH THURSDAY EVENING WITH NO
ADDITIONAL HAZARDOUS WEATHER EXPECTED FROM FRIDAY THROUGH MONDAY.
