The South Plains Area StormReady Advisory Board oversees the StormReady program for the Lubbock NWS Office’s County Warning Area. We will work with any community interested in the program within that region of Texas, helping them attain StormReady recognition. Those counties or communities interested in applying for StormReady recognition will need to complete a StormReady application. While much of the application is a basic accounting of technology, a brief narrative describing aspects of preparedness and planning activities is necessary and will help assess such things as the hazardous weather plan, exercises, and public safety programs. The application is available in either MS Word format or in Adobe pdf format. These applications can either be completed digitally and emailed to Jody James or can be printed out, completed, then mailed to:

Reference material necessary to complete the application can be found here or Jody James, our Warning Coordination Meteorologist (WCM), will gladly meet with you to go through the application criteria.
