The Lubbock Weather Forecast Office Participates in the 2007 Lubbock Career Expo

The NWS Weather Forecast Office (WFO) participated in the South Plains Tech Prep Career Expo at the Lubbock Civic Center on October 17, 2007. Jody James, Gary Skwira, and Felecia Bowser represented the NWS Lubbock office, with approximately 100 students visiting the Lubbock NWS display.

Many students were interested in learning more about careers in meteorology. A total of 2,879 students participated in the event, representing 44 schools across the South Plains of West Texas. The students learned about various career opportunities available to them and networked with exhibitors from area businesses and agencies. Organizations from various disciplines were involved including, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences; Arts and Communications; Education; Engineering and Industrial; Business, Marketing, Computer Technology, and Health Services.
