Lubbock Weather Forecast Office (WFO) Participates in the Kent County Health and Safety Fair on Halloween

The National Weather Service (NWS) Weather Forecast Office (WFO) in Lubbock traveled to Jayton, TX and participated in the 2006 Kent County Health and Safety Fair on Halloween, Tuesday October 31, 2006. The event was sponsored by the Texas Cooperative Extension in Kent County, along with the local Fire Department and Emergency Medical Service unit. As one of the participating exhibitors from across the area, WFO Lubbock General Forecaster Gary Skwira, Meteorologist Intern Jeff Vitale, and Warning Coordination Meteorologist Brian LaMarre interacted with students from area kindergarten through high school classes, as well as adults, teachers and senior citizens attending the event. Approximately 450 people were in attendance with nearly 250 children.
