Jody James
Warning Coordination Meteorologist National Weather Service – Lubbock TX |
|
Introduction: Following my formal education, I continued my weather education as a broadcast meteorologist for 2 and a half years at KFDA-TV in Amarillo, TX doing the morning and noon news shows. Following that, I worked at KYTV in Springfield, MO as the morning weatherman. I enjoyed interacting with the public while in television, talking to school kids, and communicating weather information to the public. I even got to meet and interview several country music stars from nearby Branson while working in Missouri. I entered the National Weather Service in 1992 at the weather office in Port Arthur, TX. I enjoyed being close to the beach, and doing hurricane outreach. We barely missed being impacted by Hurricane Andrew there. I came to Lubbock in 1994 and have worked in the Lubbock NWS office since then. I have three extraordinary children and a beautiful wife. I enjoy spending time with my family, working in my local church, traveling, and flying airplanes. Education: Career - Highlights:
