Meteorology has fascinated me since I was six years old. I grew up about 30 miles southeast of Cincinnati, Ohio, so the weather was constantly changing. Experiencing a near-hit from an F3 tornado to getting paralyzed with almost an inch of freezing rain, I got to witness a wide variety of significant weather as a child. Taking this passion with me to Valparaiso University in northwest Indiana allowed me to learn the reasoning for the behavior of the atmosphere and be able to forecast future conditions, through activities such as storm chasing and forecasting competitions. I was very fortunate to take this knowledge and achieve my goal of becoming a National Weather Service meteorologist. My other hobbies include watching and playing sports (baseball, football and basketball), spending time with my family and friends and traveling.
