PUBLIC INFORMATION STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LUBBOCK TX
455 PM CDT SAT APR 7 2007

..WINTRY WEATHER IMPACTS THE SOUTH PLAINS SATURDAY MORNING:

A COLD CANADIAN HIGH PRESSURE COMBINED WITH AN UPPER LEVEL STORM
SYSTEM CREATED IDEAL UPSLOPE CONDITIONS...LEADING TO AREAS OF
SNOW AND FREEZING DRIZZLE. DUE TO THE MILD AND DAMP WEATHER
EXPERIENCED IN THE PAST MONTH...THE GROUND WAS TOO WARM FOR
SIGNIFICANT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ON ROADWAYS. THE MAJORITY OF THE
ACCUMULATIONS WERE LOCATED OVER GRASSY OR VEGETATED AREAS. REPORTS
FROM SEVERAL SHERIFF OFFICES NOTED THAT THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE
SNOW FREE BUT WET ENOUGH FOR MOTORISTS TO USE CAUTION.

THE FOLLOWING ARE SOME OF THE SNOWFALL AMOUNTS FROM THE
NWS...COOPERATIVE OBSERVERS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL AS OF
