A National Weather Service Damage Assessment Team has surveyed the storm damage in St. Tammany Parish near Slidell, LA. It has been determined the damage was the result of a tornado. The tornado has been rated an EF-2 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale. Damage estimates were consistent with winds of 120 mph.

The tornado touched down in Meadow Lake Subdivision then moved to the north-northeast and cross Gause Blvd. causing minor damage at a strip shopping center and the Northrup Grumman building. A few small trees and an awning were blown to the ground at Iberia Bank next to the shopping center. The tornado lifted temporarily but quickly came back down to the ground at Pearl Drive and Azalea Lane and proceeded north-northeast for approximately 2 more miles. It crossed Interstate 10 and N. Miliary Road and proceeded to Gum Drive and Davis Landing Road before lifting. Approximately 30 homes were damaged in the Lake Village subdivsion. Some homes had portions of roofting deck removed. The worst damage occurred near Lewis Stables where one home experienced total roof loss and partial roof loss of another home. Several trees were snapped northeast of North Miliary Road and mostly minor damage was noted to residences...mainly shingles of Gum Road and Davis Landing Drive. A tin storage building was also destroyed off Gum Road. The tornado damage path was 3 miles long and was 250 yards wide at its widest point. No injuries or deaths were reported.
