A National Weather Service Damage Assessment Team has surveyed the storm damage in Jefferson Parish in the city of Kenner, LA. It has been determined the damage was the result of a tornado. The tornado has been rated an EF-0 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale. Damage estimates were consistent with winds of 75 mph.

The tornado touched down along East Grandlake Blvd and moved almost due north across Vintage Drive and Joe Yenni Blvd. The weak tornado continued to the north into Lake Pontchartrain. The tornado blew down a couple of power poles...caused minor fence damage...and uprooted a few trees. One tree fell onto the corner of a house on Platt St. Traffic lights were also twisted by the tornado. The tornado damage path was 1.5 miles long and was 20 yards wide at its widest point. No injuries or deaths were reported.
