Tornadoes and Strong Straight Line Winds Impact Southeast Louisiana and Coastal Mississippi April 4, 2011

A strong upper level disturbance brought a line of severe thunderstorms containing tornadoes and damaging straight line winds to Southeast Louisiana and Coastal Mississippi during the evening hours on April 4th.

At this time, 6 tornadoes have been confirmed from this event. Damage in Laplace was determined to be from strong straight line winds. The tornadoes have been determined to range in strength from EF0 to EF1 after NWS storm surveys were conducted.
