A weak F1 tornado touched down two miles north of Kirbyville on Highway 96. Moving southeast at 15 mph, the tornado damaged the roofs of several buildings north of Kirbyville and blew down trees along FM 363 in Jasper and Newton Counties. Eyewitnesses confirmed there was a tornado near Kirbyville.
