Tornado Damage:
This tornado formed southeast of Evadale in southern Jasper County, moving
northeast, just south of the community of Buna. This tornado was one of the
strongest of the night, causing considerable damage, with numerous injuries.
One lady was killed when she was ejected from her mobile home. Her husband also
suffered serious injuries during the disaster.
Several additional mobile homes were completely destroyed. One man was
lying in bed when he heard a roaring sound. As he was kneeling down to seek
shelter under his bed, the trailer rolled over. A large tree also fell onto a
nearby mobile home, severing it in half.
 Home had large tree fall on
roof. Part of roof was also blown off.

collapsed on left side of home.

 Upstairs apartment and two
vehicles in garage also destroyed.

 Remains of large barn near
home. All that remained were some hay bales in corner of barn. |
 Numerous pine trees with tree
tops snapped along tornado track.

 Trailer rolled over and
destroyed. Most of the debris was blown into the back woods. |
 Another trailer destroyed. It
was rolled over 50 yards.
