January, 2008
Rainfall & Temperature Data

Compiled by:
Donovan Landreneau, Forecaster
Jonathan Brazzell, Service Hydrologist

January, 2008 rainfall was generally above normal from U.S. 190 south to the coast, with near to below normal precipitation north of U.S. 190. The highest total of 10.58" was recorded at Grand Coteau, Louisiana.

Temperatures averaged within a quarter to one half of a degree on both sides of the normal curve for most locations.

The following tables are compiled from the Automatic Surface Observing System (ASOS) and Cooperative Observer network within the National Weather Service Lake Charles area of responsibility, using data obtained from NOAA's Regional Climate Center xmACIS,  WxCoder, and mailed in Cooperative Observer B-29 forms. Many thanks goes out to our Hydro Meteorological Technicians Todd Mogged and Jimmy Nunn, whom maintains the cooperative observing equipment that our observers use to provide this information.

Rainfall graphics were obtained from the Lower Mississippi River Forecast Center's Precipitation Analysis product.
