One of the most widespread severe weather events across Southwest Louisiana and Southeast Texas in many years affected the area between 1 AM CDT and 9 AM CDT on Thursday, May 15, 2008. Tornadoes and wind damage were reported in numerous locations, with the most significant damage across South-Central Louisiana around the Lafayette Metropolitan area. A total of 10 tornadoes were confirmed across Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana, making this the biggest tornado outbreak across the region since October 16, 2006. |
