Northern Sumatra Tsunami - December 26, 2004



This movie shows 35 hours of the world-wide travel of tsunami waves stemming from the December 26, 2004 Sumatra earthquake. The waves eventually reached the United States.The average tsunami wave heights along the U. S. Coasts were 6.65 inches (16.9 cm) and, after traveling 14,000 (22,500 km) miles, occurred from 31 to 35 hours after the initial earthquake.
