June 2010 was the hottest since June of 1998. Maximum temperatures reached 90°F or higher on most days across northeast Florida and southeast Georgia.
June 14th-15th was the first time the Jacksonville International Airport reached 100°F on consecutive days since July 19th-20th in 2000. The Jacksonville International Airport had a stretch of 10 days at or above 95°F from June 10th-19th.
Gainesville reached at least 90°F on all but 2 days. Gainesville had a week long stretch of 95°F or above days from June 11th-17th.
These stretches of hot weather were not unprecedented as they never challenged the all-time records of consecutive days when maximum temperatures reached 95°F at Jacksonville or Gainesville. For

The precipitation summary for June is more complex than the temperature summary. With the weak wind flow in place and the sea breeze fronts moving inland slowly and not penetrating as far inland as usual, the precipitation pattern during the month followed more of an airmass thunderstorm pattern. This means that where precipitation fell, it was hit-or-miss.
Although two inland climate sites including Gainesville and Alma both received slightly above normal rainfall amounts, Alma actually reported its 5th wettest June since 1948 with 8.78 inches.
While the sea breeze fronts did not penetrate far inland, they also did not generate a lot of thunderstorm activity across coastal communities along the
