The NOVEMBER WINNER occurred about 109 nautical miles southeast of the radar as a Supercell moved through southeast Louisiana into Pearl River county. This long-lived storm produced periodic tornadoes from Covington, La eastward into Pearl River county. A cyclical tendency between intensity and rotation was very evident even at that distance from our radar. The image below was taken during a phase of an impressive rotational velocity couplet of 41 knots over just a 1.8nm diameter. The radar-identified Meso extended up to 25,200 ft or about 44% of the storm's depth, and produced a shear reading of .013/s as seen in the table below. The 50dBz cores extended to near 28,000 ft during this same time frame.
