Our DECEMBER WINNER occurred about 45 miles northwest of the radar on the 18th as well-developed Mesocyclone caused bowing action along a line of thunderstorms moving through the lower Delta about midday. A low instability and high shear environment again produced a Mesocyclone with a shallow depth of only 8,000 feet and a Shear Value of 11(e-3/s). These images point out how the Storm Relative winds of 50+kts outbound(u.right) in the red help identify the potential severe weather.
