The APRIL WINNER occurred in western Jones County on the afternoon of the 22nd around 500 pm about 60 miles southeast of the radar. This storm had VILs peaking in the upper 50s kg/m*m accompanied by a strong Mesocyclone with a depth of at least 17,000 feet and a Shear of 28(e-3/s) over a 0.9nm diameter at the lowest altitude detected by the radar. The 4-Panel Cell Trend image below also shows that our Severe Hail Algorithms maximized during four consecutive volume scans with a hail size of 3 inches in diameter predicted (which would be larger than baseball size).
