Our APRIL WINNER developed in the high instability environment that occurred about 110 miles west of the radar as an operator-defined Tornadic Vortex Signature(TVS) was detected shortly after 200am the morning of the 20th west of Bastrop Louisiana. The 4-Panel images below reflect a well-developed supercell with tops to 51,000 feet, VILs in the mid 50s kg/m*m, and a tilted strong Mesocyclone as seen on the second Storm Relative Velocity images. The Mesocyclone depth was at least 20,000 feet with a Shear Value of 14(e-3/s) even at that distant range. The F2 tornado with this storm passed just north of Bastrop about 25 minutes after the images below.
