By 1914 climatic summaries on a national basis was being published in the Government Publication. Also the name was change to the Climatological Data of the Mississippi Section of the Weather Bureau.

By 1916 98 stations were reporting agricultural weather observations across the state.

In April of 1942 the publication location of Climatological Data of the Mississippi Section was moved from Vicksburg,Mississippi to New Orleans, Louisiana.

By 1947 hourly precipitations reports were being logged in the climatological stats across the state.

There was nothing unusual about the December's weather-temperatures averaged near normal and precipitation somewhat below normal. Precipitation occurred almost daily from the 5th through the 15th, and again on the 30th and 31st. A large High covered the southern states on the 1st. moving eastward on the 2nd; a Low developed over the Texas Panhandle on 3rd bringing warm air with showers to Louisiana on 3rd and to Mississippi by the 5th; the weak front stalled over northwestern Louisiana on the 5th; a Low over Eastern Colorado on the 6th moved to the Lakes Region on the 7th with warm showery weather in Louisiana and Mississippi until the passage of the cold front on the 8th; this cold front stalled along the Gulf Coast. Rains setting in on the 9th over Louisiana spreading rapidly over Mississippi; a Wave moved eastward attended by showers on the 10th, with cool rainy weather continuing through the 13th.

On September of 1948 the government issue Climatological Data of Mississippi of the US Weather Bureau was moved to the Department of Commerce.

On August of 1960 daily high and low soil temperatures were first recorded at Mississippi State University at the depths of 4 and 8 inches.

On January of 1966 the Special Weather Summary of the Climatological Data began to be written at the Jackson Weather Office by the Weather Bureau State Climatologist until 1973.
