Hurricane Katrina Damage

Heavily damaged agricultural complex near Seminary.

 

 

 

Heavy tree damage near the agricultural complex near Seminary. Notice that a number of trees are snapped off near the base. Damage such as this is commonly observed in F2 tornadoes with winds of 125 to 150 mph. Obviously, tornadic damage is confined to a path measured in yards. This type of damage was common and widespread from Seminary to Hattiesburg. The eye of Katrina passed through this area.
