Know Your Area's Flood Risk
For information, call your local National Weather Service Office, Red Cross Chapter, or local emergency management agency.
Check your homeowner's or renter's insurance. Homeowners' policies do not cover flooding. Contact your insurance
agent to find out how to get Flood Insurance.
Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet, and a depth of 2 feet will float your
car! NEVER try to walk, swim, or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters:
STOP! TURN AROUND AND GO ANOTHER WAY!
