…New Local Climate Pages Available on the NWS Jackson MS Web Page
A wider selection of local climate data can now be found on our web site. We have expanded the selection of data at locations for which we routinely prepare local climatological data. As a result…a greater variety of climate fields is now available for the Greenville…Greenwood…Jackson…Meridian….Vicksburg and Hattiesburg areas.
Products provided on our local climate data page have been developed at the NWS Jackson MS office and will be updated on a regular basis by automated scripts. The following products are available for the locations listed above:
  • Annual Average Temperature Extremes
  • Annual Precipitation Extremes
  • Seasonal  Average Temperature Extremes
  • Seasonal  Precipitation Extremes
  • Monthly Average Temperature Extremes
  • Monthly Precipitation Extremes
  • All Time Extremes of Daily Highs…Lows and Rainfall Amounts
  • Daily Records for Highs…Lows…Rainfall and Snowfall for the Current Day…the Previous Day and the Next Three Days
  • Average Dates and Records for Earliest/Latest Benchmark Temperatures
  • Records of Streaks of Consecutive Days for Temperature and Rainfall Benchmarks
  • Record Occurrences of 32…90…95 and 100 Degrees for each Season
This data can be accessed by selecting the “Local Data Tables" link in the climate section along the left side of our home page.
We hope that this additional climate information will serve as a local resource that will enhance services provided by regional and national climate centers. As always…local climate data that we provide is preliminary and is subject to revision. Official and certified data is available from the National Climatic Data Center (NCDC).
