The National Weather Service in Huntsville
has created a database of all severe weather events reported across
its County Warning Area. Intern Meteorologist Kurt Weber compiled
the data and from it, created a severe weather climatology for the
Tennessee Valley. You can view his complete paper here
or view individual climatologies of tornadoes,
convectively induced wind damage, or large hail.
You can also access specific information from the severe weather
database by filtering the records for specific information. We
have expanded it to include severe weather events in Lincoln,
Moore, and Franklin counties in Southern Middle Tennessee.

Note: The three sources above were used to obtain a list of
all confirmed severe weather events in the Huntsville CWA. This
is not a list of all severe weather events that have ever affected
this area. Many events occur that are never reported because
they were isolated in nature.
