Weather Outlook
A discussion, primarily for emergency managers and NWS storm
spotters, of expected hazardous weather during the next seven
days.

Forecast Discussion [ Regional
Office Discussions ]
A narrative taking users inside the mind of a NWS forecaster,
and their thoughts about forecast evolution. Issued for each
forecast by approximately 3am and 3pm, and usually with each
forecast update. Note: This product may contain some unusual
abbreviations or meteorological references.

Forecast Matrices [How
to Decode the AFM]
A tabular representation of our zone forecast. They provide
information in three-hourly increments in groupings that match
the zone forecast. Forecasts cover a seven-day period.
Point
Forecast Matrices [How
to Decode the PFM]
A tabular representation of our forecast for the Huntsville
and Decatur airports, Muscle Shoals, Meridianville, Fort Payne,
Vinemont/Cullman, and Albertville. They provide information
in three- and six-hourly increments and cover a seven-day period.
State
Tabular Forecast
A tabular forecast covering several cities across the service
area of each individual office. It contains expected daytime
weather conditions, highs and lows, and precipitation probabilities
for the next seven days.
Coded
Cities Forecast
A coded forecast for the Huntsville and Muscle Shoals airports,
containing 1-letter codes for the expected weather, high and
low temperatures and probability of precipitation for the next
7 days, and forecaster's ID number.
Short-Term
Forecast
A plain-language narrative of expected weather conditions during
the immediate future (up to 6 hours). Not issued during fair
weather. |
