Huntsville Forecasters Honored With National Award
The staff at NWS Huntsville took time out on Friday, April 2, 2004,
to recognize a few of their own. Senior forecasters Christopher
Darden and William Schaub were presented with the prestigious National
Isaac Cline Award for Meteorology, in recognition of their outstanding
work during the May 6, 2003 tornado and flash flood event. While
Cline Awards are given out on local and regional levels and for
several different categories, only one person or team receives the
National Cline Award for Meteorology each year.
To mark the event, U.S. Representative Bud Cramer (D-AL) read a
statement of congratulations into the Congressional Record. The
forecasters were presented with a plaque by Southern Region Director
Bill Proenza, and received a copy of the Congressional Record containing
Rep. Cramer's statement from district director Jim McCamy.
Congratulations, William and Chris, on behalf of everyone at NWS
Huntsville!
