  • Flood Awareness Week 2012  - The National Weather Service observed Flood Awareness week from March 12-16, 2012 to highlight the dangers of river and flash flooding.
  • Severe Weather Awareness Week 2012  - The National Weather Service observed Winter Weather Awareness week from February 19-24, 2012 to highlight the dangers of tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, lightning, and flooding.
  • Winter Weather Awareness Week 2011  - The National Weather Service observed Winter Weather Awareness week from November 14th through 18th, 2011 to highlight the dangers of winter weather.
  • Fall Severe Weather Awareness Day 2011 - The National Weather Service and Alabama and Tennessee Emergency Management Agencies conducted a Fall Severe Weather Awareness Day on October 19, 2011 to highlight the dangers of the secondary fall severe weather season.
  • Lightning Safety Awareness Week 2011 - Lightning is the "underrated killer" in the United States, and to highlight this threat, the National Weather Service conducted Lighting Safety Awareness Week June 19-25, 2011.
