Zip-Zones Explained

Southeast Texas Zip Zones Map
Find the location of your home or business and note the Zip-Zone where it is located. Those in Zip-Zone coastal (yellow hatched areas) should plan to evacuate for all hurricanes. Those in Zip-Zone A (yellow areas) should plan to evacuate for a Category 1 or 2 hurricane. Those in Zip-Zone B (green areas) should plan to evacuate for a Category 1, 2 or 3 hurricane. Those in Zip-Zone C (orange areas) should plan to evacuate for a Category 4 or 5 hurricanes. Make sure you follow your local officials who will be issuing evacuation recommendations during a tropical cyclone threat.

If you live near a Zip-Zone boundary and are unsure of which Zip-Zone you are in, err on the side of caution. Assume that you are in the Zip-Zone that will be affected by a lower category hurricane. Thus, if you live close to the border of Zip-Zone A and Zip-Zone B, assume that you are in Zip-Zone A and plan to evacuate for a Category 1 or 2 hurricane. If you live in a mobile home in any of the four Zip-Zone areas, plan to evacuate any time a hurricane threatens.
