1898

TROPICAL STORM (September 28th landfall)
A tropical storm made landfall near Galveston, bringing showers, but causing little damage.


1897

HURRICANE (Cat. 1 - September 13th landfall)
A hurricane made landfall in western LA. Many houses in Port Arthur were demolished. Thirteen persons were killed.


1895

TROPICAL STORM (October 6th landfall)
A tropical storm made landfall near Freeport. Little damage was reported.


1891

HURRICANE (Cat. 2 - July 5th landfall)
A hurricane hit north of Matagorda Bay with winds estimated at 100 mph near the eye.
