An EF-1 tornado ripped through Alvin on this day in 1983. There were no fatalities with this storm but seven people were injured. Damage was estimated at $500,000 dollars.

In 2000, a band of thunderstorms moved across the eastern half of Southeast Texas. The storms produced strong winds that toppled trees and knocked down power lines from Madisonville to Livingston.
