2011 HAS BEEN THE WARMEST YEAR ON RECORD WITH THE WARMEST SUMMER
ON RECORD...AND THE RECORDS JUST KEEP FALLING. THE TEMPERATURE
REACHED 102 DEGREES AT HOUSTON INTERCONTINENTAL AIRPORT THIS
AFTERNOON. THIS IS A NEW HIGH TEMPERATURE RECORD FOR THE DAY...
SMASHING THE OLD RECORD OF 98 DEGREES IN 1912. THIS IS ALSO THE
WARMEST TEMPERATURE EVER RECORDED SO LATE IN THE YEAR. THE LATEST
DATE THAT THE MERCURY REACHED 102 DEGREES WAS SEPTEMBER 5 2000
WHEN THE MERCURY EVENTUALLY TOPPED OUT AT 108 DEGREES.  

2011 ALSO CONTAINS THE EARLIEST 102 DEGREE DAY IN CITY HISTORY
WHEN THE MERCURY CLIMBED TO 105 DEGREES ON JUNE 5TH 2011. PRIOR TO
