TRIPLE DIGIT HEAT HAS PLAGUED MUCH OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS OVER THE
LAST WEEK. THE MONTH IS NOT OVER YET...SO MUCH CAN CHANGE. AT THE
CURRENT TIME...HOUSTON IS SUFFERING THROUGH IT`S 4TH WARMEST
JUNE. AT HOBBY AIRPORT...THIS IS ALSO THE 4TH WARMEST JUNE.
GALVESTON IS ENDURING IT`S 8TH WARMEST JUNE AND COLLEGE STATION
IS ENDURING IT`S 4TH WARMEST JUNE. TO PUT THIS IN PERSPECTIVE...
THE FIRST SEVEN DAYS OF JUNE WERE COOLER THAN NORMAL SO THE
INTENSE HEAT OVER THE LAST 19 DAYS HAS MADE UP THE TEMPERATURE
DEFICIT WITH CHANGE TO SPARE. THIS LATEST HEATWAVE SHOWS NO SIGN
OF RELENTING SO THE MONTHLY AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WILL LIKELY
INCREASE.

DAILY TEMPERATURE RECORD. THE LAST TIME THE MERCURY SOARED TO 104
DEGREES WAS ON AUGUST 7TH 2003. THE LAST TIME HOUSTON RECORDED 4
CONSECUTIVE 100 DEGREE DAYS WAS SEPTEMBER 2 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 6
2000. THE LAST TIME 4 CONSECUTIVE DAYS BREACHED 100 DEGREES IN
JUNE WAS JUNE 25TH THROUGH JUNE 30 1980 (6 CONSECUTIVE DAYS).

THE FIRST SEVEN DAYS OF THE MONTH CONTAINED BELOW NORMAL
