Winter IS HERE in  North Texas!

While major winter storms are not as common here as they are farther north, winter weather can cause serious impacts across the area. This is a good time, then, to review some winter weather facts and safety tips to help make the cold weather season a safe one in north Texas.

While we are in a la nina period, which  generally results in a warmer and drier winter pattern for North Texas, it should be noted that this does not mean that there will be no cold spells or even any winter weather episodes. This simply means that on average the winter is expected to be warmer and drier. This has indeed been the case for at least the first few weeks of winter 2007-2008.
