Watch Redefining Statement(SLS, WWUS32)DefinitionA rewording of the tornado or severe thunderstorm watch area. It is expressed in terms of whole counties and, in the case of coastal areas, adjoining lake and/or coastal waters between well known landmarks. Cities or well known geographic landmarks within a state may be included.Generally, if any portion of a county is covered by a watch box, then the entire county is considered to be included in the watch. However, each local NWS forecast office affected by the watch has the option to add or delete counties it believes will or will not experience severe weather. This is typically along the border of the watchbox where only a small fraction of the county is covered by the watch box. The Watch Redefining Statement provides a list of counties that ARE included in the watch. This product is issued by the NWS forecast office in Fort Worth for all counties in Texas. Example
