As such, these products tend to focus on areas rather than on particular watercourses.<br><br> Generally, flood/flash flood watches focus on large areas such as portions of states and are primarily county based. In contrast, Western Gulf River Forecast Center (WGRFC) focus is on longer-term flood events. Accordingly, WGRFC prepares forecasts for rivers or river systems detailing river stages at specific gauging points.
