Volunteer Weather Observers Needed!
No Experience Necessary !!

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth is looking for volunteers in the following locations to become official weather observers and report the daily weather to us:
  • Collin County: Farmersville
  • Comanche County: Comanche
  •  Eastland County: Rising Star
  •  Grayson County: Gordonville
  •  Hill County: Malone
  •  Limestone County: Groesbeck
  •  Mills County: Mullin
  •  Robertson County: Wheelock
  •  Van Zandt County: Canton

If you are interested in becoming an official weather observer in one of these locations, a National Weather Service employee will come out to survey your site to make sure it meets the requirements for installing weather equipment. If the requirements are met, the National Weather Service will provide all equipment and necessary training. It will then be your responsibility to observe, record, and report the weather on a daily basis. Reports can be made via phone or internet. The National Weather Service will maintain the equipment and will come out at least once a year to check the equipment and fix or replace the equipment if necessary.

If you are interested, contact Gerald Shultz at Gerald.Shultz@noaa.gov. or Jennifer Dunn at jennifer.dunn@noaa.gov
