1st 1995 - The WSR-57 radar Stephenville was decomissioned.
1891 - The existing weather services (the beginnings of The Weather Bureau) were transferred to the Department of Agriculture under the organic act.
2nd 1980 - The high temperature of 110°F at DFW airport was a record for the month of July.
3rd 1889 - Flooding on the 2nd and 3rd produced a river stage of 41 feet on the Trinity River Dallas.
4th 1924 - An all day cold rain following a frontal passage, held afternoon temperatures the upper 50s across the Dallas/Fort Worth area. This was 40°F below normal.
5th 1924 - The low temperature of 56°F Dallas was a record for the month of July.
1905 - F4 tornado killed 18 people Montague County.
6th 1924 - The low temperature of 60°F in Waco tied the record for the month of July.
7th 1894 - On the 6th and 7th, 4.41" of rain in fell in Weatherford.
8th 1931 - Severe thunderstorms produced wind gusts to 72 mph Dallas.
9th 1952 - An unusually strong cold front brought record low temperatures, the lower 60s, to the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
10th 1995 - The first yearly occurrence of a high of 100°F or more at DFW airport.
11th 1910 - Gainesville received 5.15" of rain, which resulted flooding across the area.
12th 1904 - This was the only day of the year with a high temperature of 100°F or more at Dallas.
13th 1960 - Dallas received 3.76" of rain in one hour, with 1.18" of it coming 5 minutes.
14th 1990 - The low temperature of 60°F Waco tied the record for the month of July.
15th 1960 - On the 14th and 15th, 7" of rain fell in Mckinney, flooding some homes.
16th 1930 - A weather forecast office was established at Love Field Dallas.
17th 1984 - A severe thunderstorm at Cleburne produced damaging winds.
18th 1980 - The high temperature of 110°F at DFW airport tied the record high for the month of July.
19th 1919 - Over 9" of rain fell in Gainesville, flooding part of the city.
20th 1936 - A severe thunderstorm produced wind gusts to 77 mph Dallas.
1920 - A severe thunderstorm produced wind gusts to 72 mph Dallas.
21st 1986 - 3" to 5" of rain fell at Joe Pool Lake.
22nd 1966 - The Southern Region Headquarters of the National Weather Service moved to their current location the federal building downtown Fort Worth.
23rd 1983 - Terrell received 2.8" of rain.
24th 1966 - Over 3" of rain fell in downtown Fort Worth, collapsing the roof of a building.
25th 1954 - The high temperature of 108°F in Waco tied the record high for the month of July.
26th 1954 - Palestine and Bridgeport both had a high temperature of 114°F.
1887 - Haskell was destroyed by an tornado.
27th 1954 - This was the last day of 23 consecutive days with a high of 100°F or more in Dallas.
28th 1994 - The low temperature of 60°F in Waco tied the record low for the month of July.
29th 1964 - 2.68" of rain fell in downtown Fort Worth.
30th 1957 - The high temperature of 108°F in Waco tied the record high for the month of July.
1933 - A in tornado Oak Cliff killed 5 people.
31st 1986 - The high temperature of 108°F in Waco tied the record high temperature for the month of July.
1945 - Upper air observations were begun in Fort Worth.
