Record Wet summer season over West Georgia

With some help from Tropical Storm Cindy and Hurricane Dennis last month, the persistant afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the past couple of weeks and Hurricane Katrina on Monday and Tuesday, Atlanta and Columbus will have the wettest June through August period ever. Atlanta has also recorded the wettest July and August period ever. Although additional rainfall is not expected over the Atlanta and Athens areas, Columbus may see an isolated shower or thunderstorm this afternoon.
