Student Volunteer Program


Then Become A Student Volunteer!

Student volunteers work side-by-side with actual weather forecasters at the National Weather Service and will participate in:

  • Weather balloon launches
  • Severe weather forecasting events
  • Analyzing current weather maps
  • AND MORE!

To Be A Student Volunteer You Must...

...be a 2008-2009 JUNIOR or SENIOR in high school, or a college student...
and meet these qualifications

How to Apply...

...send a written request via the e-mail address at the bottom of this page. Please state that you are interested in the Student Volunteer Program and include your mailing address. You will receive a volunteer packet containing important information and documents which must be filled out and returned to the following address:
    National Weather Service
    4 Falcon Dr.
    Peachtree City, Ga. 30269

    Attention: Kent McMullen

The volunteer packet must be received by April 15 in order to be considered for any of the available positions.

(packets received after the deadline date will NOT be considered.)

Those students selected will be notified by May 1st and begin working by June 1st.
