Tornadoes Hit Washington County in Central Georgia - Photos

A line of thunderstorms marching through North Georgia on Tuesday May 20, 2008 produced two tornadoes in Washington County - one of which started its path in Hancock County. After a storm survey by the National Weather Service, one tornado was rated an EF1 with winds of 90 to 100 mph, and the other was rated EF0 with winds of 70 to 80 mph. There was little structural damage, but many trees were uprooted, snapped or otherwise damaged. See the full report from the survey team.
