In the predawn hours of Sunday April 15, 2007 severe thunderstorms moved across
Central Georgia, producing damage across a number of counties - generally in a swath from Crisp County east to Emanuel County.
Much of this damage was caused by several tornadoes. There have been reports that more than one person was injured during the event.
In Crisp County...
An EF1 tornado that initially touched down in Worth County
crossed into Crisp county 5.5 miles west of Arabi at
approximately 3:27 am EDT...and lifted at approximately 3:39 am EDT
three miles northeast of Arabi.
Total path length was 14 miles, with 7.5 miles occurring in Crisp
County. Path width was 200 yards. Maximum wind speed was 100 mph. Near Arabi, a mobile home was shifted
off its foundation, and its straps pulled out of the ground. Several trees
were downed as well. As the tornado lifted near exit 92 on I-75, it
tossed a car onto a guard rail.
